Christmas Time is Here... La la la...

Ok, so it's December and that usually means (at least) one thing in the Adams household - A Charlie Brown Christmas!! For some reason Eric LOVES that show and must watch it each time that it airs (even if it airs multiple times in the same week) :)
It was on last week when Emily had already gone to bed, BUT much to Eric's delight it came on again last night and he and Emily got to spend some quality time watching it together for the first time. Below is a photo I snapped of them engrossed in the Charlie Brown saga. Maybe she's a little Peanuts fan in training...

Could they be any cuter? :)

'Tis the Season....

Emily visited Santa over the weekend at our friend Brenda's church. Emily wasn't overly thrilled about sitting on his lap from the beginning - this picture is about as close as we were going to get to a smile during this visit with Santa...

She's starting to lose it here.... witness the evolution of Emily going into freak-out mode... (Oh, and isn't this a great classic baby hates sitting on Santa's lap picture ?)

Ok, she's ready to bail, she couldn't care less what great gifts Santa may be promising, she's not going to stand for it. Poor Santa, he's doing his best to console her..... to use Eric's words "she's inconsolable"

Little Jumping Bean!

Yesterday Emily discovered the joys of jumping. Now she wants to do it all the time, even when she not in the jumper :) Below is a video of her at Allie's this morning showing off her jumping skills. Jumpin' jumpin' jumpin'...

More Thanksgiving Photos.

Thanksgiving for the Adams' was spent in Macon. There was good food, good people and good "visiting". Here's the "photographic evidence" of the Adams' visiting over the holidays....

One of us is refusing to look at the camera, can you guess which one?

The Adams clan after the big meal.

Charles provided a little after dinner entertainment, and we learned that Emily loves the guitar. Here Grandpa gets her up close and personal while Charles plays Emily a funny song just for her.

A little sitting up, a little laughing....

Ok, so we finally figured out how to upload a video to the blog. The is the inaugural test video of Emily hanging out a few days ago.

Emily's Favorite Pastime...

Ok, so there is one thing Emily loves to do above all other activities (well besides eating that is)... She chews on everything! She chews her own hand, she'll chew your hand, your face, toys, phones, books, papers, anything that comes near her mouth is going in it. The only exception to this, of course, is rice cereal and baby food - ironically, those things she refuses to put in her mouth. Below are a couple of photos of Emily snapped in the act of her favorite pastime.

What she's doing to this Gloworm is a little Hannibal Lector-ish. Poor little Gloworm...

Again, caught in the act.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's Emily for her Fall/Thanksgiving photo shoot. What a happy little Pilgrim she is :)

Here Emily inspects the "decoration"... Mmmm, looks tasty
It was a struggle to keep her from eating the foliage...

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! The Adams' celebrated by spending the day in Macon with Grandpa Dale and Diane and others. Friday we visited with Grandma Ann for the day after Thanksgiving. We are all officially "stuffed" now from all of the holiday festivities.

Eric's little helper....

Eric decides to put Emily to work on creating tests and quizzes for his classes. She was a little unsure in the beginning....

Ok, I think she's starting to get this computer thing down now...

Here's the final product. Emily is all trained and ready to go, she'll be creating quizzes and tests in no time! Well, assuming she can learn Latin within the next couple of days... Hmmm, I wonder what the child labor laws are in Georgia?

Another comparison...

Here's Emily laying on Eric when she was less than a month old...

And here is the reenactment of the same photo 5 months later...

One of them has grown significantly!

Pumpkin Painting Fun!

Allie (the lady that keeps Emily) had pumpkin painting day a few weeks ago for the children. They each got a mini pumpkin and paint with which to decorate their pumpkins. Below is the evolution of the pumpkin painting experience.
I am proudly displaying the finished product on my desk at work. It's seasonally festive, and my first craft project from Emily. :)
On a side note, no the daycare is not a nudist or clothing optional establishment. Babies clean up easily - clothes, not so much...

Inspecting her "canvas"...

Using her Picasso-like skills to decorate her pumpkin...

Painting aftermath - good thing her mouth was plugged!

Sitting Up

Emily is learning to sit up on her own now. She just started developing this new skill over the past week. She can sit by herself for a few minutes at a time, until she either starts to slump to one side or gets excited and jerks backwards. She hasn't learned yet that gravity is not her friend. Also, I don't think she realizes that holding onto her own pants is not going to keep her from tumbling... :)

Still sitting.....

Uh-oh, once again she's hit the deck!

Emily gets freedom to stand all on her own (sort of)...

Emily tried out her jumper for the first time this weekend. She really enjoyed being able to swing herself around.

Here she is really studying all of the gizmos...

Showing off her skills.

BIG Smile!

My friend Mary took this picture last week and I just had to post it because it is about the biggest smile we've seen yet. She's obviously very excited about something :)

Happy Halloween!

Here's Emily all decked out in her Halloween gear and playing in the hay at the Vaughn's Farm. Mom and Emily covered in hay after the photo shoot.
Later in the day we went on a hayride at our friend's church. Emily enjoyed the riding around in the open air.

Lil' pumpkin head.

Happy Halloween from the Adams Family!!

Reading the paper...

Emily joined Eric in reading the weekend paper. So far so good.... Emily has taken an intrest in the paper, it seems..... but is it in the news?Newspaper aftermath - when reading goes wrong...

Breakfast with Liam

We went to breakfast this past Saturday with some friends, and Emily had a great time chatting with her friend Liam. It looks like he is demonstrating how to use a spoon. Maybe after this tutorial she'll be up for giving the rice cereal another try....

Emily tries food for the first time... yummy

Here's Emily getting her first taste of rice cereal. I think most of it ended up on her face and shirt, as she's still trying to figure out this new spoon thing.

How did she like eating solid foods you may ask....
See the picture below for the answer to that question...

Not a happy camper.

Here's Miss E sporting her new shades. She likes to wear them on her head just like Mom!

New gizmo = fun times

Here Emily is discovering the joys of a new fun gizmo. At first she just wanted to lean forward and suck on the seat, but now she's getting into all of the surrounding bells and whistles.

Look of excitement?

Evolution of Emily...

Could it be that this is the same baby only 2 1/2 months later?

I can't believe the difference already from just a couple of months ago. She's obviously a bit more chubby, and what happened to her hair?

Getting cuter by the day!

Training for special ops or merely trying to lift her head from face down into the pillow. I suspect the latter.
