Purple Rain, Purple Rain....

Ok, so the rain wasn't purple, but when I started trying to think of good rain titles for this post that song got stuck in my head so I went with it.
After our beautiful weekend Mother Nature decided to again torture us with cold and rainy weather. She was just teasing us with sunny 60+ degree weather - I think she likes getting our hopes up for the Sun and warmth only to bring us crashing back down to reality. Ok, sorry about the weather rant, obviously I'm not a fan of the rain and cold. But at least one good thing came out of getting more rain - Emily got to wear her super-cute raincoat! Here she is sporting her raincoat for the first time. Even though his coat is blue, she reminds me a little of Paddington Bear in her raincoat.
Check out those bottom chompers shining brightly in this picture

Ok, maybe a little rain is worth it if that means Emily gets to wear her little rain slicker again...

Day at the park....

The weather was great this past weekend (in the 60's) so the Adams family loaded up and headed to the park. Here's documentation of some of our park adventures. Emily also tried out a slide for the first time as well, but unfortunately there is no "photographic evidence" of that. I assure you though, it's no "slide hoax". :)
Trying out the swing for the first time...

I think we may have a new favorite pasttime....

Here she is the day before. We took her to the park to give her open range for riding around in her little "car". It took her a while to get going, but once she figured it out she was off and running! (side note: check out the hat, she likes to keep it real)

Laissez les bons temps rouler...

James (Emily's gentleman friend at daycare), has parents from New Orleans. His Mom also just happens to be my coworker & friend, but I digress. James' Grandpa sent a "Mardi Gras care-package" to the daycare to celebrate the holiday. Here's a couple of pictures of Emily celebrating the festivities.
Here's Emily sporting her beads and Margi Gras accoutrement (Wow two French phrases in one blog, we're getting awfully fancy here at the Adams')

Here's the entire Margi Gras posse (the four kids at daycare, Allie's two daughters, and Allie's nephew)

Also, here's a picture of Emily and James sharing a hug.

Emily is on the move...

It first started with her learning to maneuver this car/walker. Here she says "eat my dust Mom, I'm going to see what Dad is doing"

Then her mobility progressed to being able to do this in her bed...

Now, she is on the go go go all by herself!

Emily can now crawl/will crawl when she feels like it and spots something that catches her eye. We're now starting to realize just how un-childproofed our house really is - I guess that's the next project for the Adams'...

Adams' Winter Wonderland...

As promised here are some pictures from the Adams' adventure during SNOWPOCALYPSE 2010.

Eric and Emily "checking it all out"... Emily seems a bit skeptical, not really sure if she likes it or not.

Verdict's in, I think she likes it!

She likes this too, she thinks it's funny to fly around.

By the creek behind the house. The creek isn't frozen over like in MN, but it's a pretty good snow covering for GA.

Snowpocalypse....

That's right! It snowed 3-4" here in GA which equals SNOWPOCALYPSE!! Snow in GA always means two things: 1) Sensationalized news coverage of snow flurries, and 2) a run on milk/bread at the supermarket.
The Adams Family made a run to the Publix (really to visit the bank inside to deposit a check) and to grab a few snacks just in case we would be snowed in for more than 12 hours. Luckily we weren't looking to buy milk or bread, but apparently we were in the minority as both those items were all but gone from the shelves. Below is the "phtographic evidence" of how Georgians prepare for snow...
Milk case.

Bread aisle.

The Adams' did venture outside to take in the sights of the winter wonderland - pictures of that adventure to follow soon....

New Addition to the Family....

Ha ha, the title has peaked your interest, right?!?!
The newest addition is..... a mini Eric!!! That's right, now the family consists of not just one but two Erics! Ahhh, go screaming for the hills!!! Luckily, mini Eric is less argumentative and much more agreeable - actually just give him a little nudge and he will agree with anything you say. Here's Big E posing with his miniature version:

Eric now has a bobble-head of himself courtesy of some very creative students (how cool is that) - Honestly though, I really don't know if it's more awesome or creepy to have a bobble-head of yourself.
