Trip to Grandpa's and Random Happenings...

This past weekend we loaded up and headed down to Grandpa Adams' place.

Emily loaded and ready.

While there, we strolled around the whole perimeter of Grandpa's property

Emily got to run free in the field

Here's Grandpa with his new ride

We posed for a family portrait.

Here's a random mix of recent activities:

Happy Halloween!

Introducing...... Wonder Woman!

Here's her angry face for having to wear the headband. She only wore the headband for about 2.4 seconds...
Emily attended a Halloween party on Friday where she got to hang out with a fairy, a pumpkin, a loaf of Wonderbread, and Yoda. Here she is in the bouncy house with Yoda.

Wonder Woman (minus headband) to the rescue!
Happy Halloween!

Cuteness....

So the lady that watches Emily is pretty crafty, and along with designing hair bows, she has started making other girly-related items such as tutus and fairy wands, etc. Emily got to be the model for her products to advertise her wares. Below are a few pictures from the "photo shoot".

Trip to Grandma's House Cont....

Here's more photos from our trip to the great white north.
Emily at Grandma's

Grandma made her special award-winning pie while we were there. Seriously, it's award-winning, this pie won the Florida Orange dessert contest in the 60's. Let me just tell ya, it was good then and it's good now. Just ask Emily if you don't believe me - she was a big fan of the pie. Here she is finishing off her piece.

Since we were in the "Land O' Lakes", no visit would be complete without visiting an actual lake, right? We got the spend the day at a cousin's cabin for some good food, fun and a birthday celebration.
Grandma and Emily. One is cooperating to have her picture taken, one is not - I'll let you figure our which is which....

We celebrated birthdays - Happy Birthday Grandma and Lynn!

Here's Emily on her makeshift booster seat. I think she rather enjoyed sitting on the pillows.

On the way to the airport we stopped in to have lunch at "The Nook". I had seen it on "Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives" and wanted to experience the "Juicy Lucy" for myself. (Side note: could Emily look any more excited in this picture?" :)

Grandma and Vivi.
Vivi and I had the "Juicy Lucy" while Grandma and Emily went for more regular fare. I can't speak for Vivi (I think she would agree), but I certainly do not regret my decision to order the super-yummy, cheese-filled, delicious burger.
Behold:
Check out that molten volcano of cheese.... Mmmm cheese....
We had lots of good times on the trip and finished it off with what may be the cheesiest cheeseburger I've ever had..... so I would say overall, it was a pretty darn good trip. :)

Minnesota State Fair Ya'll!

Once upon a time (about two weeks ago), the women folk in the Adams family decided that we were big girls and could travel across the country by ourselves - so that's what we did. (Eric was invited but he had to work, so it was just us girls).
So we headed to the airport to catch our first-class coach ride to the land o' lakes.

Here Emily checks out our sweet ride..

Our main purpose of the trip was to visit these awesome ladies.

Seriously, they're awesome, and they took us to this place...

We went to the MN State Fair and had a GREAT time. It really is something to see. Lots of sights to see, great entertainment and the best part is the food!

Here's Emily with the 2nd largest pumpkin. We didn't eat it - but we did eat lots of other things...

Like fried cheese curds (Side note: my favorite item of the day)

We rode things like this. Even Grandma was a sport and rode it too.

Back to eating... we had "Pronto Pups" - the non-corndog corndogs.

They taste even better when you wear the hats....

At the dairy barn, we got milkshakes and icecream cones and watched a "princess" get carved in butter. It was all dairylicious...

Deep fried Twinkie - both delicious and disgusting...

Here Emily sums up the time we had at the fair.

It was a long journey to get there, but it was well worth it.

And this was just the first day of our time in MN. More pictures of the rest of our visit coming soon.

Quick Update

So we've been a little slow on the postings lately. There really hasn't been too much going on recently, but here are some pictures of some of the activities happening with the Adams'.Emily went to Grandma's house and got to hang out with her cousin Austin
(they both look like they're ready to pounce - Gma must have pulled out snacks)

We were making dinner a few days ago and noticed that it was awfully quiet - a little too quiet - this is what we found. She had gotten a book and was quietly "reading" to her baby. Maybe this is her classroom, maybe she's going to be just like Dad. :)

We had our friend Liam over last weekend - he and Emily formed the "boots with shorts brigade."

Grandpa came for a visit and brought gifts from Alaska! Here Grandpa is helping Emily put on her new Alaska socks. She LOVES these socks. Seriously, I've never seen a kid love a pair of socks so much, she wants to put them on almost everyday.

Eric is the new Forrest Gump....

So Eric ran another 5K last weekend. This one was here in town and was a "retro" run - hence the headband. The run was scheduled for 7pm and it was hot hot hot! Luckily, it rained right as the race was about to start which helped to cool everything down before the run.

Check out the number they assigned Eric.... He was so excited!!

Intimidating the other runners pre-race. With this running pose and being labeled #1, I'm surprise the other runners even had the heart to go through with the race.

Go Eric Go!

Crossing the finish line!
